My husband and I traveled via local transportation, eating regional foods, staying at the least expensive lodgings, carrying our own loads and accepting whatever came along without feeling we should be treated any differently. Thus, we increased our interactions with the Indigenous population. A modern day traveler can expect the same.We journeyed with no definite route in mind and no schedules to keep.
