The Ghanaian writer was educated at Central University College in Accra. He is regarded as a notable figure in the representation of African textile heritage and the preservation of African cultural heritage in general. He believes African textiles are a tangible manifestation of African culture, central to African identity and a repository of intangible cultural heritage which needs safeguarding.\u003cbr\u003eIn addition to his literary contributions in the field of African textiles\/Art history he is also a leading textile artist in Ghana. \u003cbr\u003eIn 2022 he was named in Undocublack Network's Black Personalities of Choice for Black History Month (Lift Every Voice Up Series). He is a recipient of the Thetis Blacker Award from Temenos Academy, London (patron King Charles III).
