Author Biography

Lesandra Simpson is a recovering addict and alcoholic living in British Columbia. She has been putting pen to paper since her childhood and has always dreamed of becoming an adult. Her honesty and rawness might be seen as a fault, but to her, it's the most freeing thing about her. She is currently studying to become a social worker at UFV and hopes to give back to the community what was once given to her. Anything but Brave is her debut book which she started working on in 1999. Her obsession to document her life started because she did not want to forget and continued writing throughout her addiction because it was all she had left. Her knowledge of addiction is extensive, as imparted in diary form, another form of storytelling, society's oldest and most valued form of communication.
