The workbook set has been designed for students in grade 4. The units/modules will address grade level Next Generation Science Standards as well as reinforcegrade level ELA Common Core State Standards The workbook aims to develop students' knowledge of key contributions made by inventors and scientists of
African descent in various areas of technology and science. Students will also have the opportunity to practice literacy skills by closely reading informational texts, answering text dependent questions, conducting research and producing writing in various formats. The cross-content design will allow students to reinforce learning of grade level science standards in the areas of life, earth and physical science as well as engineering design.
