Broken Sky - Paperback

by John Harvey (Author)

A midnight fire in a Louisiana refinery seems like an unfortunate accident, until the fuel tanks of a dozen distant aircraft burst into flame at the same moment and expose a secret technology that blurs the lines between time, space, dreams, and memory.

Sixteen-year-old Jack Scatter lives far from the chaos, on Cirrus, a colossal space station with endless skies, pristine waters, and artificial mountains. Haunted by a recurring dream of fire and shadowy voices, he stumbles upon a downed military drone carrying forbidden cargo and becomes a target of the ruthless corporation determined to profit from Earth's demise.

Elsewhere on Cirrus, Sarah Rogers, a bright and determined student, answers Jack's distress call. Using her access to a network of surveillance drones, she helps him uncover a conspiracy that endangers both worlds. Together, she and Jack must risk everything to unravel the mystery, unmask the man behind the scheme, and prevent an apocalypse.

Set in the late twenty-first century, BROKEN SKY is a YA science-fiction adventure, the first of a trilogy where magic increasingly replaces technology, and genetically engineered dragons have political ambitions.
