Author Biography

Alexandria Levin was born in New York City, and has lived for extensive periods of time in Boston, San Francisco, Albuquerque and Philadelphia. A graduate of the San Francisco Art Institute, she has always been true to her own artistic vision, while remaining serious about the career details of being an artist. As a painter who believes deeply in continuous artistic growth, and never settling, she has created four strong, distinct bodies of work over the years, all the while exploring various materials, techniques and creative approaches. Besides her diverse accomplishments as a visual artist, writing has always been evident in Alexandria's life ever since the age of 15 when she began writing poetry and essays, many of which have been published in print and online. Hopelessly creative, perceptive, organized and ethical, she conceived Painted Jay Publishing to help change and improve things for all artists; in business, knowledge of the art world, arts education and creative processes. More books are currently in development. See www.paintedjay.com Of course, Alexandria is dedicated to her own demanding muse. Many of the results can be seen at www.alexalev.com for oil paintings, www.alexandrialevin.com for graphic design, lyric poetry and accidental photography, and at www.brightpinksmile.com for a good old-fashioned web log.
