Born in Beterverwagting, Guyana, Waveney grew up surrounded by a loving family that included six sisters and two brothers. At the age of seven, her aunt, grandmother, and mother joined the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and suddenly she and her siblings were poked fun of in the community for joining a "cult," otherwise known as the "Seven Days" or "Seven Devils" church. Not to be deterred from biblical conviction, the family banded together and served their new church with all their might. When Waveney accepted Jesus as her personal Savior and was baptized as a youth, she embarked on a journey of tremendous blessings and trials that has taken her to foreign lands, including the United States, and back to her homeland. It has been a journey of service, new beginnings, loss, joy, opened and closed doors, and, ultimately-love. As each year passes, Waveney's love affair with her heavenly Father has grown stronger and brighter, and she eagerly shares with everyone who will listen how they too can be loved and show love to those around them.
