Autobiography: Ronald N. Dubé was born and raised in Nashua, NH, and graduated from Nashua High School in 1960, the same year he earned the Eagle Scout Award. He graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in biology and a minor in history/geography. He worked as a zookeeper at Benson's Wild Animal Farm during college to pay expenses.

He served as a Peace Corps Volunteer from 1964 to 1966 in Niger, West Africa, working on a reforestation project in the Sahel. He managed to tour extensively in West Africa, visiting Nigeria and Cameroon, where he climbed its highest mountain. He also visited Togo, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Upper Volta, now Burkina Faso, and Dahomey - Benin. After his discharge, he visited South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Egypt and six European capitals.

Ron joined the NH National Guard in 1966, but was released after a pre-existing condition surfaced during basic training. He started teaching biology at Salem High School, then transferred to Milford High School. He earned his Master's degree in biology at Rivier College in Nashua in 1970. He taught at his alma mater from 1970 to 1979, then taught physical science in Pepperell, MA, for the next 26 years. After retiring from Massachusetts, he returned to Nashua High for another three years.

Ron and his wife, Roseanna, raised three sons on an old 35-acre homestead in Mason, NH. He planned and directed a Merit Badge College for the Monadnock District of the Daniel Webster Council, was awarded Scout-master of the Year in 1999 and the Distinguished Service Award in 2005.
