Riven & The Emerald Forest: A Journey Through Shadow & Self - Paperback

by Kristen M. Brown (Author)

In the depths of the Emerald Forest, where ancient spirits whisper and shadows breathe, one girl must face the truth of who she is-and who she is becoming.

Riven, a transgender young woman shunned by her people, ventures into the heart of a mystical forest in search of healing, purpose, and power. Haunted by prejudice and her own doubts, she is tested by supernatural forces, both benevolent and brutal. From moonlit groves to the lairs of dark spirits, Riven must endure elemental trials, confront a nemesis born of hatred, and unlock a magic rooted deep within the earth-and herself.

As the forest awakens to her presence, Riven is drawn into a mythic struggle between light and shadow, tradition and truth. With each challenge, she is transformed-not only in body and magic, but in spirit. A lyrical coming-of-age fantasy about identity, resilience, and the sacred journey of becoming, Riven & The Emerald Forest is a tale of rebirth, self-acceptance, and the kind of power that only comes from living one's truth.

Beneath the canopy of wonder and myth, where the trees remember all that has ever passed, Riven's journey echoes a deeper truth-a reflection of a world not unlike our own. Beyond the veil of fantasy, the transgender community walks a path as treacherous as any forest trail, tangled with thorns of misunderstanding and fear. In lands both real and imagined, they are too often cast as shadows rather than stars, politicized into symbols instead of seen as souls. Prejudice, like a dark enchantment, clings to their every step-shaped not by who they are, but by who others refuse to see. In this tale, the magic is not merely in spells or spirits, but in the courage to be-fierce, fragile, and true-in a world that would sooner silence than celebrate them. As Riven moves through fire and frost, she carries the weight of many, turning pain into power, exile into rebirth. For hers is not just a story-it is a mirror held up to a society still learning to see the sacred in every becoming.
