Sandstorm - Paperback

by Tina Son (Author)

Based on true events from the streets of Yonkers, Harlem, North and South Carolina, and Georgia, this powerful memoir takes readers on a journey with Kasim "P-retty" Green to a destination no one could have imagined.

Growing up in Yonkers, New York-"Home of the brave, the lost borough, the city that sits under a permanent black cloud"-P-retty's world was surrounded by legends like DMX, Mary J. Blige, The LOX, and even the dark shadow of the Son of Sam. But behind the music and notoriety, life in the hood was filled with drugs, robberies, and distractions powerful enough to crush even the biggest of dreams.

Son of a white dopefiend, P-retty clung to his vision of making it to the NBA. Every day became a balancing act: chasing basketball dreams while dodging the chaos and temptations of the streets. His journey is filled with prayers, setbacks, survival, and determination.

Will the dark cloud of Yonkers swallow him whole, or will his faith and persistence open doors to the life he always dreamed of?

Raw, emotional, and inspiring, this is not just one man's story-it's a reflection of every dreamer who has ever tried to rise above their circumstances.
