Trey Horton is a CPA who loves seeing small business owners fulfill their dreams and become successful with their own business. His practice helps small business owners clear the hurdles they face in more than just tax and accounting issues. He wants to see small business owners accomplish their goals. He says: "I left a large corporate environment because I had my own dreams and aspirations of owning a business that would help other small business owners achieve their dreams and help individuals find financial success." One of the factors that makes Trey's practice stand out is a desire to educate clients about the opportunities they have to save money for retirement and reduce their taxes. He believes too many CPAs are transaction-oriented and just concerned about completing the tax return. He says, "It drives me crazy to see someone not take advantage of some of the easier tax breaks because they didn't truly understand how they work or were never told about them." Trey has been in public accounting for over 18 years and has had many clients whose business and financial successes have flourished. "I try to learn from my clients as well and they have taught me too many things for me to even list. Nothing makes me feel more like I have achieved my goal than when a client tells me "thank you" and says how much they appreciate all we have done for them. Every CPA should strive for that with every client." Married for more than 20 years, Trey has two young children and he tries to spend as much time with them as possible.
