His reminiscences begin in 1904, continue through the boom days, and he was still there, keeping a diary, in the 1950s when they started to call Mogollon a "ghost town". The Bloated Goat Saloon was where the old timers gathered and here are some of the best stories they told: tales of Indians and desperadoes, mountain lions and mountain man Ben Lilly, the Mogollon Mountains, 24-horse teams and home life in a unique frontier town.
