Galactic navy recruit, Bache Loftt is on his final exercise after two years of study at the galaxy's Naval Officer Training Academy.
What starts as a routine end of course starship flight out to the edge of charted space, quickly becomes a fight for survival and an unplanned journey into a dangerous corner of the Milky Way.
Disaster follows misfortune, in this tale of corrupt ancient technology, betrayal and ingrained distrust. With a resolution that seems frustratingly just out of reach.
Follow Bache and company as they endeavour to save a remote and resolutely independent human community from a genocidal artificial intelligence, its prime objective to rid the galaxy of all sentient biological life.
