The peaceful life of Vaseux Lake is disturbed when the successful emergency physician, Dr. Sheldon Peterson gasps his last blood-frothed breath with a knife centred between his eyes. Chris Miller, covered in Sheldon's blood, stops the futile chest compressions. With dread he realizes that all the evidence points to him.
Chris is forced to look at the shattered mirror of his life when he proclaims his innocence.
Catherine McBride and officer Svenson's murder investigation becomes complicated as they piece together the reflections of the intriguing life of Sheldon, his wife Angelique and the trio, Chris, Ian and T, living next door.
Chris is Angelique's kind and sensitive childhood friend. Ian is like a blood brother to Chris, since he took him under his wing as a boy. Finally, the flamboyant T spices up the life in the dead-end street, Sundial Drive.
