In English, "Hamonshū" can be translated as either 'Ripple Collection' or "Wave Collection".This single enhanced volume contains the original three volume woodblock printed books from 1903. Wave motifs were used on a variety of art works including ceramics and metal work such as sword furniture and in particular Tsuba [sword-guards]. It is hoped students of Japanese artwork can find the visual inspiration for the many pieces that have incorporated the "wave" motif in its many and varied forms.
