Author Biography
Theodor E. Mommsen (1905-1958) was a German born historian. He graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Berlin in 1929. In 1936, after immigrating to the U.S., Mommsen became an instructor at Johns Hopkins University. He would later go on to teach at several other institutions, including Yale University, Groton School, Princeton University, Cornell University, and the University of Chicago.
