Struggling with Stroke: Separation From Past Self - Paperback
Details
by Douglas James (Author)
This book is primarily an attempt to share the psychological effects I experienced from my stroke. Cognitive ability and memory were not affected and physical disability, although quite bad, was common to stroke victims. It was my separation to my past life in terms of self awareness that was primarily difficulty. It was rather unique in that all memories were clear, but were very much as if they belonged to a different person. This aspect of my experience prompted keeping a regular inventory record of my mental and emotional states, a kind of diary, which evolved into this book.
